OFR Consultants has made changes in its regional offices to accommodate growth in the south of the country; HR director Lucy Kirkup says “it is imperative that our physical workspaces reflect our values, with brilliantly designed, easy-to-access offices in which our people feel comfortable and happy.”
 

Our colleague and Technical Director Alan is once again training up to support the Lighthouse Club Charity. As part of the Glencar team, he will be using his OFR Better Days leave allocation to cycle a challenging 210 miles from Leitrim to Killarney in just three days next month to raise funds and awareness of mental health amongst construction workers and their families. 

This year’s #EarthDay takes place on 22 April and will be highlighting the many ways we can all help to protect the planet through our work and actions. This year’s theme focuses on ending plastics for the sake of human and planetary health by demanding a 60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040.  Here our colleague Daniel Codd takes a look at a number of OFR’s initiatives that demonstrate our commitment to the sustainable use of timber across projects internationally.

Our team, led by Principal Fire Engineer, Alex Farrelly-Waters has been supporting Jamie’s Farm – an amazing youth charity – to develop its newest site just outside of Bath.

We’ve completed our work for client Transport for Greater Manchester on the brand-new Stockport Interchange and the adjacent 52m residential building which is home to 196 properties – set to complete this summer.  

OFR Consultants has today announced its sponsorship of SheCanEngineer – a non-profit diversity, equity and inclusion initiative dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of female engineers and achieving gender parity.

As we conclude our careers week celebrations here at OFR, today we meet our colleague, Sam Bryant. A talented fire engineer based out of our Edinburgh office, here Sam tells us more about how she first fell in love with engineering, what her day-to-day role entails and about the fabulous people she works with who ensure her spark remains ignited…
