Sustainability
At OFR, sustainability is a core part of how we shape safer, lower‑carbon buildings.
Our work in mass timber is a key example – as co‑authors of the UK’s first Commercial Timber Guidebook, we’re helping the industry adopt timber confidently and responsibly, providing clear guidance on fire performance, durability and insurance considerations.
Our teams continue to contribute to leading fire‑safety research in sustainable materials, from Cross Laminate Timber (CLT) and engineered timber behaviour to large‑scale fire testing, ensuring that innovative construction methods are supported by robust evidence.
Sustainability also shapes how we operate as a business. Our internal environmental committee drives initiatives to reduce our impact, and many colleagues volunteer their time to environmental projects within their communities.
Together, these efforts reflect our commitment to practical, research‑led sustainability – supporting clients, colleagues and communities in creating a more resilient built environment.
