At Board level, Alan contributes to HR, Retention & Reward, and Marketing. He is a Chartered Building Engineer, a member of CABE and the Institution of Fire Engineers, and sits on the council of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP).

Alan believes that OFR’s ability to solve complex, detail-driven challenges – supported by a diverse and experienced team – is key to its continued growth and strong client relationships.

Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his young family, as well as cycling, snowboarding, DIY projects, and attending live music events. His favourite quote is: “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford

He was drawn to OFR by the opportunity to work on major projects in London while collaborating with a highly skilled technical team.

With a background in residential design, Stewart oversees key client relationships including London Square, Clarion, Lendlease, and Yoo Capital.

He is a Chartered Engineer with experience across major developments such as London Olympia, Camden Film Quarter, Crossrail, and Stratford Waterfront.

Stewart believes that strong client relationships and technical collaboration are key drivers of OFR’s success.

Outside of work, he is a keen runner, cyclist, and swimmer, and enjoys discussing 90s indie music, cricket, and Liverpool Football Club.

He joined to work on major projects such as Google HQ and to further develop his interest in structural fire engineering and mass timber design.

With a background in structural engineering and structural fire safety, Danny plays a key role in technical delivery, research, and the development of specialist expertise within the practice. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of both the Institution of Fire Engineers and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield.

His career highlights include editing the SFPE International Handbook on Structural Fire Engineering and contributing to the 6th edition of the SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering. Recently, Danny was named an SFPE Fellow as part of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Fellow Class of 2026.

He is particularly passionate about developing technical excellence and believes that continuous learning and innovation are critical to OFR’s success.

Outside of work, Danny is a keen cyclist and has completed endurance events including the Fred Whitton Challenge and the Dragon Ride. His favourite quote is:

He was motivated by the opportunity to help shape a growing, specialist fire engineering practice and to deliver tailored solutions on high-profile projects, including Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 transformation.

Chris leads OFR’s Expert Witness services, providing independent and impartial advice to support dispute resolution. At Board level, he contributes to financial performance, compliance, practice management, and recruitment. He is also actively involved in mentoring through the graduate and apprentice programmes.

He is a Chartered Building Engineer and a member of both CABE and the Institution of Fire Engineers.

Chris believes that OFR’s strength lies in the diversity of its people, which enables the team to respond effectively to complex challenges across the built environment.

He was attracted by the company’s clear and progressive vision for shared ownership, recognising the opportunity to help build a business where success is collectively realised.

At Board level, Ryan contributes across OFR’s core operational pillars, supporting the development of teams and the continued growth of the business.

He holds a PhD and began his career in fire testing, with a strong focus on developing people and growing high-performing teams both at OFR and previously within large consultancies.

Ryan believes that attracting and developing great people is fundamental to OFR’s success and long-term sustainability.

Outside of work, he enjoys a wide range of activities including spending time with family and friends, as well as badminton, golf, cycling, surfing, swimming, chess, gaming, reading, and climbing. His favourite quote is:

He has worked in fire engineering since graduating from the University of Leeds in 2002 with a degree in Fire Science.

Before joining OFR, Neil built an international career across the UK, Ireland, USA, Australia, and Qatar, primarily within large multidisciplinary consultancies. He was drawn to OFR by its reputation for technical excellence, its commitment to advancing independent research, and its employee-owned structure, which aligns business success with the people who contribute to it.

At Board level, Neil contributes to the strategic direction of the business, with a focus on delivering high-quality design solutions and supporting OFR’s continued growth and innovation.

Neil is particularly passionate about working collaboratively with clients and architects to develop tailored fire engineering solutions that prioritise safety without compromising design intent. He believes that understanding the different needs of stakeholders is key to delivering successful outcomes and is one of the aspects that makes each project unique.

He sees OFR’s independence, research-led approach, and investment in its people as central drivers of its success, and is keen to see the business continue to expand its global reach while maintaining its position at the forefront of the industry.

He was drawn to OFR by the opportunity to work alongside some of the most respected fire engineers in the industry, and to contribute to the growth of a specialist practice focused entirely on fire engineering.

At Board level, Richard contributes to commercial performance, technical delivery, learning and development, and research. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers.

A key career highlight is his long-term involvement in the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, a complex project he has supported for over a decade from concept through to operation.

Richard believes that the depth of expertise and the collaborative, people-focused culture at OFR are central to its continued success.

Outside of work, he is a keen guitarist and enjoys playing as a way to switch off.

His route into the profession was unconventional, having initially focused on sport before discovering fire engineering during a summer in the United States, which inspired him to pursue Fire Science at the University of Leeds.

Jack has worked with leading consultancies including Buro Happold, Arup, AECOM, and the Fire Surgery, contributing to globally recognised projects such as Qatar 2022 and the Rio Olympic Games. He later joined OFR, drawn by its ambition, collaborative culture, and opportunity to work closely with clients while delivering high-quality, innovative design.

At Board level, Jack contributes to the strategic direction of the business and supports the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects.

He believes that curiosity, collaboration, and a willingness to challenge convention are key to driving OFR forward.

Outside of work, Jack enjoys open water swimming, cycling, kayaking, and cooking.
