Fire engineers help create safe, functional and compliant buildings by understanding how fire and smoke behave, and designing solutions that protect people, property and the planet. They work closely with architects, developers and contractors on a wide range of projects, providing technical advice throughout the design and construction process.

Our graduate programme typically starts in September each year. Exact start dates will be confirmed during the recruitment process, allowing successful candidates plenty of time to prepare for joining the business.

Our teams work on a diverse range of projects across the UK and internationally, from high-rise residential developments and commercial buildings to healthcare, education, infrastructure and community projects. As a graduate, you’ll gain exposure to a variety of sectors and project types, helping you develop a broad range of technical and project delivery skills.

No two days are the same. You might spend your time collaborating with project teams, attending client meetings, carrying out technical analysis, preparing reports, visiting project sites, participating in training sessions or learning from experienced colleagues. The variety of work means you’ll continuously develop new skills while gaining exposure to different projects, sectors and challenges.

OFR has offices across the UK, and graduates are typically based in one of our regional offices. Wherever you’re located, you’ll work closely with colleagues from across the business, giving you exposure to a wide range of expertise, projects and clients while benefiting from the support of your local team.
