The Paper Garden makes the 2024 MacEwan Shortlist

We’re thrilled to see our pro bono work listed on the RIBA Journal 2024 MacEwen Award Shortlist – an accolade that celebrates architecture with a civic purpose.

The shortlisted project is the Paper Garden in Canada Water, an educational community building for the Global Generation charity which creates educational and leadership opportunities for young people, and ecology projects for schoolchildren and families.

Judges Alex Scott-Whitby and Je Ahn said that there is a “generosity” to this project and an “exciting” quality. Ahn said this comes through in the “warmth of the design of both the building and gardens” – something that “is certainly corroborated by its clients who describe it as a ‘truly magical space’”.

We’re thrilled to see a project of this kind celebrated in this way, it’s testament to our commitment to making a positive social impact and offering our fire engineering expertise to projects with purpose.

Congratulations to all the other shortlisted projects; you can read more about The Paper Garden and others in the RIBA Journal.
