Countess of Chester Hospital - Women & Children’s Unit

The new Women and Children’s Building at the Countess of Chester Hospital reimagines maternity and neonatal care for the region, setting a new benchmark for patient-centred healthcare design.

One of the oldest buildings on the Chester Hospital Estate, the maternity unit was no longer fit for purpose, resulting in a new Women’s and Children’s unit being constructed to provide patients and staff with access to the best possible healthcare facilities, setting a new standard for sustainable maternity and neonatal care. OFR were appointed to develop a fire strategy, utilising our expertise to aid the design and construction process.
